M-ASS ESSAY COMPETITION 2008
M-ASS ran its 2nd Annual Essay Competition in August 2008. The Competition allowed students to submit a research essay they had written for any Arts subject, with the aim of promoting knowledge transfer and rewarding students for exceptional work that would previously have been seen only by their tutor or lecturer. The Competition received a huge response, with nearly 100 essays entered on all manner of topics from the various schools and departments.
In 2008, the prize winners were: 1st Justine Hansen
2nd Jennifer Ames 3rd Phil Barker Best First Year Essay Dana Ter
Congratulations also to the Top 8 who received a double pass to Melbourne University Shakespeare Company's "Macbeth". Mira Adler-Gillies, Samuel Burt, Jennifer Lim and Stacey Nguyen
The competition will return in 2009.

Congratulations also to the other entrants that made up the top seven, as judged by the M-ASS Committee. Each entrant in the top seven received two tickets to the Eagle’s Nest Theatre’s production of Macbeth. Tess Murphy Jaeger, Jennifer Lim, Seb Strangio and Leah Welsh.
